Since 1883 students and faculty have donned cap and gown amidst the colors, the bagpipes, and the ceremony of Belhaven Colege commencements. On Saturday, May 8 the commencement took place with all the traditional elements, but this time under the school’s new name of Belhaven University. The same captivating sounds of the “Piping of the Colors”, the streaming processional of students and faculty, and the singing of the Belhaven University Hymn and Alma Mater continued to create an atmosphere of great expectation.

Mr. Guy Rodgers, Executive Director, ACT! For America opened with prayer reminding all that there is no second class calling and that each calling is to be walked out in the Spirit with excellence, that the world would see God’s goodness and glory.

Dr. Theodore Baehr, Chairman of Christian Film and Television Commission and Publisher of Movieguide®, delivered his commencement address “More than Conquerors…To the Ends of the Earth” to the class of 2010.
