Andrea Thomasson is a recent Belhaven graduate with a unique combination of interests which led her towards a dual degree in International Studies and Fine Art. This weekend, She will be hosting an exhibit opening titled “Medina” in the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts Gallery on Belhaven campus this coming Saturday from 2-4. Her visual work is strongly influenced by her interests in global culture, sensory experiences, geographical forms and the concept of story. Andrea’s most recent traveling experience, a semester studying abroad in Morocco, has greatly influenced her current direction with color and form. Her work is an open and non-representational response to moments and memories from her travels.
