Dear Friends of the Music Department at Belhaven University,
Greetings from Jackson, MS.
Please accept my apology for writing so little this year. The pace of our activities in Belhaven Music continues unabated with a music major enrollment that continues with more than 60 music majors! I do hope to help you keep up to date with our spring concert schedule with regular announcements during the next two months. Today’s installment will give you news through Spring Break which concludes on March 21.
So far this academic year, the Music Department at Belhaven University has continued to enjoy an unprecedented time of concerts and recitals. Students are passing their juries and presenting highly successful programs. This past Saturday pianist Ellie Honea and sopranos Hannah Cross and Blakeney Hatcliff presented their junior recitals. (Please know that I am especially proud of our juniors and seniors as they present their recitals. They learn so much during the many months of preparation and practice that lead up to very joyful public performances. A crucial part of that learning involves relying on our Lord for provision in all aspects of recital preparation and performance.)
Now I would like to celebrate some imminent events with current music majors highlighted by underlining and music faculty highlighted in italics.
