Dr. Reid Bishop Helps Save 10 Swimmers

Dr. Reid Bishop, Associate Professor of Chemistry, is taking a much deserved vacation this week – after a long year of helping us save Fitzhugh Hall by designing a remarkable new science building.

But his rescuing nature also took over at the beach on Dauphin Island when 10 girls were caught in a rip tide.

He went into the water after them, along with a bunch of life guards, and it took all of them to get the girls to safety.

Here is the video including Reid.
