The 2010-2011 Belhaven Theatre Season

The Belhaven University Theatre Department is proud to announce its production season for 2010-2011.

August 21: The 24 Hour Theatre Festival.  From zero to new play in 24 hours.  Blackbox Theatre

September 21-25: Lifting the Veil by Paul D Patton, directed by Jonathan Dixon.  Theatre 151

October 21-30: “Juliet and her Romeo” a stylized presentation of Shakespeare’s tragedy directed by Joseph Frost.  Blackbox Theatre

November 30 & December 1: The 5th Annual One Act Play Festival.  Blackbox Theatre.

February 17-25: The Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, directed by John Maxwell.  Blackbox Theatre.

March 30-April 5: The Bald Soprano by Eugene Ionesco, directed by Becki Haynes.  Theatre 151.

April 4-16:  The Belhaven Theatre Festival – a two week extravaganza of theatre activities; including guest artist performances, showcase solo shows, class presentations, staged readings of original works, senior recitals, and workshops.  Exact times and locations TBA.

  1. Does the theater department ever use non-college students to fill younger roles? I have a 14 almost 15 year old that would be very interested.

  2. Yes, we have from time to time, but we aren’t expecting to do that this year – we don’t have roles to fill with younger actors this season. You could check with New Stage Theatre, here locally, or with any number of community theatres in the area.
