Commencement speaker – Makoto Fujimura

Our university president, Dr. Roger Parrott announced on his blog that the 2011 Spring Commencement speaker for Belhaven University will be renowned artist Makoto Fujimura, head of the International Arts Movement headquartered in New York City.  We are excited to have such a distinguished speaker on campus and look forward to the opportunity to hear his address on April 30.

  1. I attended my newphew’s graduation yesterday on April 30th, and was most impressed by your university. I know my nephew Cameron Lovitt has found a home with y’all, and loves his school. And now I understand why!

From the playing of the bagpipes (Which we are members of the Cameron Clan) to the end of the ceramony, it was beautiful.

I was particularly intrigued with your Commencement speaker, Mr. Fujimura. Is there any way I may get a copy of his address? He touched my soul, like no other speaker has ever done. He is a very remarkable man, whose comments I would love to save.

I had the privilage of meeting and talking with him in the lobby of the church afterwards, and told him what his words had meant to me. I introduced him to my nephen and my sister in law, who took a picture of Cameron and me with him! He is a very kind man. If you had searched the world over, you could not have picked a better speaker.

  2. I did not remark 2 times, I was trying to scroll down to sign it. May I have my Letter back to sign it PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not going to write all of that again! I would like Mr. Fujimura’s address to the class of 2011 if possible if you cannot pull my letter up. He is genius, and I would like a copy of his Commencement Address.
