Dr. Westley Busbee Awarded 2008 Humanities Teacher Award

This year’s recipient of the Humanities Teacher Award is Dr. Westley Busbee, Political Science Professor and Division of Humanities & History Chair. In response to this honor, he presented a public lecture on “The Women in the Life of Stonewall Jackson.” This presentation briefly described Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson’s life and military career. The major emphasis, however, was on Jackson’s relationships with the women in his short life – his mother, sister, first wife, second wife, and his two daughters. Dr. Busbee will be formally honored at the Mississippi Humanities Council Annual Awards Banquet, which takes place on February 27, 2009.
