A Riddle for Southerners

A Riddle for Southerners

by Emma Schlett

It swallows man-made structures to ensure that man knows its power,

as well as its fellows in nature, just to be sure.

Its path consists of many

unpredictable

twists

and turns. It has no defined destination,

it simply ends where it ends, and man cannot end it.

Emma Schlett is a graduate of Belhaven University with a BFA in Creative Writing.
